Abstract Location and value of non-residential construction added in the 7-county Twin Cities metro area in 2006.

This dataset consists of the value and location of commercial, industrial, and public non-residential construction activity in the 7-county Twin Cities metropolitan area in 2006.

The information was obtained through a survey sent to communities from the Metropolitan Council. The communities sent back the survey, and the data was verified by Metropolitan Council staff through various means including: Service Availability Charges (SAC) data; McGraw-Hill data; Contact with community staff; community websites; developer websites; county websites; and periodical and journal reviews. Missing information is then included and incorrect information is corrected.

A map was created by geocoding the address of the building and using The Lawrence Group's (TLG) street centerline data. The map uses graduated circles to represent the value and location of non-residential construction activity.
