Metadata Summary

Originator Dataset contains data originating from multiple cities and counties in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A complete list can be found at http://www.datafinder.org/metadata/MetroGIS_Address_Points_Data_Provider_Registry.pdf
Abstract This dataset is a compilation of address point data from cities and counties in the seven county Twin Cities, Minnesota metropolitan area. The dataset is intended to contain a point location and the official address (as defined by the address authority) for all occupiable units and any other official addresses within the jurisdictional boundary of each address authority that provides data. A number of other attributes are available in the dataset, but may not be populated by some address authorities.

Currently this dataset contains points for just the City of Roseville, the first contributor to the dataset! It will grow over time as more cities participate in the dataset.

This is a MetroGIS Regionally Endorsed dataset. (See http://www.metrogis.org/data/about/index.shtml#whatis for more information.)

Attribute Accuracy This regional dataset requires that all contributing datasets be submitted with a standard set of attributes. However, many attributes are optional. Full databases specificaions can be found at http://www.datafinder.org/metadata/MetroGIS_Address_Points_Database_Specifications.pdf . No attempt has been made by MetroGIS to assess the accuracy of the attribute data. Please report any perceived discrepancies or errors in the data to the designated data provider. A list can be found at http://www.datafinder.org/metadata/MetroGIS_Address_Points_Data_Provider_Registry.pdf
Logical Consistency The dataset is topologically 'clean'.
Completeness No attempt has been made by MetroGIS to assess the completeness of addresses or attributes provided by address authorities. The datasets tested to ensure that all required attributes are populated.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy No attempt has been made by MetroGIS to assess the horizontal positional accuracy of points in this dataset. See the Positional Accuracy Indicator attribute for feature level information about positional accuracy.
Lineage Each address authority participating in the MetroGIS Address Points Dataset provides either a shape file or and XML transfer file to the regional custodian (Metropolitan Council). The regional custodian validates that the data schema (field name type, width, order) matches the MetroGIS data specifications, that the dataset contains no duplicated unique IDs, and that the address authority field contains valid entries. No attempt is made to further process the data at the regional level. For information about lineage at the data development level, contact each address authority.
