Abstract This layer contains data for the sewer interceptor system in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Purpose To provide a digital inventory of Metropolitan Council, Environmental Services division owned pipelines for maintenance, planning and analysis.

Attribute Accuracy
Logical Consistency The dataset is topologically 'clean'.
Completeness Entire seven county geographic area is covered.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy The positional accuracy of the dataset has not been tested under the National Standards for Spatial Data Accuracy. The positional accuracy of the dataset is estimated to be 20 ft.
Lineage This dataset was derived from as-built plan drawings. The data were transferred to ETAK street base files and later converted to match a 1992 (?) Minnesota Department of Transportation street base.

The Metropolitan Council is in the process of developing parallel data using GPS locations for more accurate positioning.
