Abstract	Locations of bus garages in the Twin Cities Metro area. Metro Transit (MT) Garages - The five MT points in this file are located precisely at the entrance point to the garage for buses at street level. This allows for accurate measurements and routing for transit systems; however, it contrasts with previous versions of this shapefile that placed the point at the center of the garage's main building. Regional Provider (RP) Garages - The eleven RP points in this file are located on a central point of the garage property . They were initially geocoded based on garage addresses using TLG centerline streets. Points were moved off street linework using MARKHURD 2005 aerial photos for reference. For cartographic purposes, this file is acceptable for small-scale, citywide or countywide maps. For large scale site maps, it may make more sense to use a building polygon file or aerial photos, given the location of the points in this file.
